At 12:00 PM, PVFC was dispatched to Electroline Corp for a reported fire after a utility pole and transformer fell toward the building, striking the gas meter and rupturing the gas line. The transformer ignited, and the fire was fueled by the escaping natural gas. Crews quickly set up for a fire attack but had to hold operations due to the electrical hazard until PECO arrived and secured the power. Once the power was shut down, firefighters began suppression operations and extinguished the fire, preventing further extension into the building. No firefighters or occupants of the business were injured. Crews remained on scene from 12:00 PM until approximately 6:30 PM.
We would also like to thank the mutual aid companies that responded to assist, as well as PECO for their support in safely resolving the incident.
At 3:33 AM this morning, the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company, with other surrounding departments were dispatched to assist the Dublin Volunteer Fire Company on a working barn fire in their local. Engine 20 and Engine 24 responded and assisted crews with fire suppression and operational support throughout the morning as firefighters worked to bring the incident under control.
Mutual aid is a critical part of the fire service, and we are always ready to stand alongside our neighboring departments when they call for help.
Thank you to all the firefighters and emergency personnel who worked through the early morning hours to protect our community.
At 2:28 am on December 28th, the residents of a home on Roseberry Dr discovered a fire in the kitchen. The fire quickly spread, and the homeowners safely evacuated. Chief 24 arrived and observed fire coming out of both sides of the home. Due to the risk of fire to surrounding homes and the extremely low temperatures, mutual aid was dispatched to assist. Unfortunately, several family pets were lost in the fire. Our thoughts go out to the affected family. Thank you to the following mutual companies for their assistance: Point Pleasant Vol. Fire Co., Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, Palisades Regional Fire Rescue, Chalfont Fire Company, Dublin Volunteer Fire Company, Lingohocken Fire Company, and Midway Volunteer Fire Company . The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Plumsteadville Fire Company responded to a rubbish fire at 611 Metals in Bedminster Twp at 12:21 pm, today . The fire was contained to a pile of various metals and tires. Due to no water sources in the area, a tanker task force was set up with tankers and engines from across Bucks, Montgomery and Hunterdon Counties. One firefighter was slightly injured but returned to his task shortly after being evaluated by EMS. The Bucks County HazMat Team and the PA Dept of Environmental Protection were on site and found no concerns in the air or in the run off water or surrounding areas.
Due to the time of day, several surrounding fire companies were called in to assist. The fire was placed under control and crews cleared the scene around 3:30 pm.
The Plumsteadville Fire Company wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to all who assisted us during this incident.
